Shipping policy

Delivery Policy 

Items that are in stock will be dispatched within 1-3 business days of receipt of payment by standard delivery (2-3 days). If you need an item sooner, there is an option to upgrade to Tracked 24hr delivery at the checkout.

Delivery of made-to-order items depends on the nature of the order. Most made-to-order items in the Shop will be made and dispatched within 5-7 business days and sent by standard delivery (2-3 days). More time intensive custom orders will be indicated in the item description or agreed with me prior to taking payment. 

UK delivery:

All items are dispatched from the UK. Postage depends on size of parcel but as a guideline:

UK Tracked 48hr delivery - 2-3 business days from £3.50

UK Tracked 24hr delivery - 1-2 business days from £4.50

International shipping:

International shipping is currently available to the following countries outside of the UK. With the exception of the USA, any customs duties and import taxes will be payable to the shipping carrier on receipt of your order.  

USA 

• Any duties and import taxes are included in the total order cost at checkout, meaning no extra charges will occur on delivery of your parcel.
  
  
• Items are shipped Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) using Royal Mail tracked international shipping and clearly indicated as such on the shipping label.
  
  

Europe

• VAT is included at checkout for both physical and digital products. The customer is responsible for paying any duties to the carrier on delivery of orders of and over €150. 
  
  
• At Sew Sofia, we work closely with our authorised EU representative to ensure compliance with the General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) with any products shipped to European countries.
  
  
• Currently, our Sewing Kits including The Busy Bagmaker subscription box and digital sewing patterns are available to EU customers.
   
• Germany, Sew Sofia is registered with the LUCID Packaging Register, Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister and has a packaging license with Reclay Systems GmbH in 2026.

Other countries

• The total order cost at checkout does not include additional duties and import taxes.
  
  
• Items are shipped Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) using Royal Mail tracked international shipping.
  
  
• The customer is responsible for paying any duties and import taxes to the carrier on delivery of the order.
  
  
• The carrier may also include their own shipping handling fee.

International shipping is currently available to the following countries:

CANADA - Import taxes (GST) will apply for orders of $40 CAD. Customs duties will apply to orders of $150 CAD. If any taxes or duties are applied, there will also be a flat rate handling fee from the carrier of $9.95, collected on behalf of the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA).

AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND - import taxes (GST) apply. There may also be a handling fee from the carrier.

If your country is not listed, please head to my Etsy shop which will include additional sales taxes depending on your country.

 

Missed or unclaimed parcels:

I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.

If an item is returned to me by Royal Mail as unclaimed, I will contact you to arrange for the item to be redelivered. Please note that if such a situation occurs, there may be an extra charge for postage to cover the cost of resending the item for you.

Damages and issues:

Please inspect your order on receipt and contact me immediately if the item is defective, has become damaged in transit, or if you have received the wrong item, so that I can evaluate the issue and make it right.
