Pure Winter Magic in the December Box

This month's Busy Bagmaker box brings together two of my favourite designers to make a rather special bag. Introducing the Scarlett Bag*  a pattern by Sallie Tomato*  featuring the stunning "Bluebells and Buttercups Lark" canvas from Bonnie Christine's Wild Forgotten collection for Art Gallery Fabrics.

December's box includes everything you need to make this exact bag, including all the fabrics, the right interfacings, metal hardware and digital pattern, along with a full-length video tutorial to sew along with me. There is also a mystery surprise gift just for you!

The Scarlett*  is an on-trend hobo style bag with defined curves, accentuated by large o-rings on the front tab and side strap connectors. It's a beginner friendly pattern with plenty of scope to add extra pockets and details to suit your own style. The front tab closes securely with a magnetic snap and features an optional tassel in faux leather for extra swish factor!

There is a small curvy slip pocket inside and in my video tutorial, I show you how to add a further two divided slip pockets using the lining fabric.

The main fabric is in an extra wide, high quality cotton canvas which I've paired up with a lighter weight cotton "Abode" by Maureen Cracknell.

A slim magnetic snap and three large o-rings in warm bronze metal hardware, together with a sumptuous tan faux leather, give a classic, timeless appeal to the finished bag.

And the surprise little extra in this month's box is this delightful, magnetic stargazing hare needle minder by Love Poppet, handmade in England. Perfect for keeping your needle within easy reach without losing it in your pin cushion!
