February's box is Enchanting!

In this month's Busy Bagmaker box, we’re sewing the Sila Duo Pouch pattern by my sewing friend Damjana of AppleGreen Cottage. This beginner friendly and versatile pattern is to make two accessories: a larger zipped bag with a flat base and a smaller pouch which fits neatly inside the front slip pocket like a removable pocket!
For February's project, I was drawn to the “Enchanted” collection designed by Heather of Hang Tight Studio for Cloud 9 Fabrics. With whimsical birds and sweet cherry blossoms, this flirty and feminine collection evokes a dreamy sense of nostalgic romance and is perfect for Valentine’s and the coming Spring!
You have many choices with Sila! You can choose to make a pretty clutch purse for a special occasion by adding a wristlet strap or decorative chain strap ...
...or a crossbody bag for every day use, by attaching an adjustable shoulder strap. Alternatively, you could keep it simple and leave off the strap hardware to use it as a beauty bag for your toiletries. You can even attach a wristlet strap to the smaller pouch to carry your phone.
The larger pouch has a front slip pocket with a choice of an angled or curved flap which closes with a magnetic snap. It has a flat base, zipped top closure and slip pocket inside. The smaller zip pouch fits neatly inside the front pocket. Both pouches are padded for structure and use light gold metal bag hardware for a professional finish.
Damjana also shows how to make the front pocket with quilt-as-you-go fabric piecing and fabric blocks on the smaller pouch. It's a really fun pattern with so many possibilities!
February's box includes access to the Sila Duo Pouch digital pattern, three coordinating fabrics, three different interfacings, nutmeg zipper tape, light gold zipper pulls, light gold strap hardware and a surprise custom made gift for your sewing table! I also provide a full length, step-by-step video tutorial to sew the Sila at your own pace.
Fancy having a go at making the Sila Duo Pouch pattern too? You can grab the digital pattern from AppleGreen Cottage - and then follow along with my video tutorial for each step.
Damjana and I would love to see your finished Sila's too! Feel free to share in the AppleGreen Cottage Facebook group!
