Ciao Bella! The June Project Box is here!

For my June Project Box, I've collaborated with my sewing friend Vanessa of LBG Studio to make her Double Zip Crossbody Bag pattern in the stunning Florence inspired fabric by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics. I just knew that it would be the perfect pattern for showing off a feature fabric like "Bella Firenze".

The Double Zip Crossbody Bag is a pattern 'add-on' to the Double Zip Pouch pattern from LBG Studio. The pouch pattern comes in several sizes, small, medium, large, extra large, and even a mini version on her blog!

The bag has a front full width zipped pocket, lined in mosaic tiles fabric "Maiolica Rinascimento" from the same fabric collection. There a two slip pockets to the front, ideal for storing items like sunglasses or tissues within easy reach - and a further two slip pockets inside.

So what do you get in the June Project Box?

Three coordinating fabrics from the Florence collection
Cream zipper tape and zip pulls
Metal hardware to make an adjustable clip-on shoulder strap
Leather cord to attach to the zip pulls
A couple of shorter zippers to make the mini version of the pouch
A printout of the cutting list and crossbody bag instructions
A link to the Double Zip Pouch pattern
A mystery (non sewing) gift with an Italian theme!

The Double Zip Pouch is such a versatile pattern for bag makers to have on hand - I have made so many variations over the years and can truly say that it has helped me to perfect sewing zippers on straight!

After launching this month's project, I added a second, slightly different Project Box to make a set of at least two Double Zip Pouches. Pictured here are the large and smaller sizes. The Pouch is very similar in construction to the Crossbody Bag, so you can refer to my video tutorial to make either option.
