A Handmade Advent is for Keeps!

My big kids will never get over the novelty of waking up on 1st December to find our family advent calendar full of goodies to open each day in the run up to Christmas!
This year, I'm encouraging you to sew your own advent and bring joy to your loved ones, big and small! I've curated an extra special Project Box to sew the stunning "Adventale"advent calendar designed by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics.

This is a beginner friendly sewing project with all the supplies you need in the exact quantities to make the advent calendar, plus an instruction sheet and video tutorial to sew along with me. All you need is yourself, your sewing machine and you're good to sew!

The details are exquisite. Each window has a view looking into a cosy home at Christmas, or looking out into the garden on a winter's night. There are 24 pockets which you can arrange in numerical order or jumble up for extra fun.

The front door of the house is a large pocket too, perhaps a special treat for all the family on Christmas Day. I decided to divide the pocket up on my sample calendar and trimmed it with baby white pom poms to resemble snow.

There is an optional add-on kit with fabrics, fusible web and instructions to personalise your calendar just as I have done for many families using machine appliqué.
The kit also comes in a large organza bag which you can use to store your finished advent calendar when not in use.

It's the perfect mid-year project to get ahead of the busy festive season and the result is so much more special and meaningful than the cardboard, throwaway variety from supermarkets.
There are limited boxes available for this exclusive project. And if you need a nudge to get your advent calendar sewn up, join my private Facebook group.
That way, we can check in on each other's progress! I can't wait for you to join me for this festive project over the Summer!
